“I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious” – Vince Lombardi
We actually had that quote written up on the wall in the weight room before the ownership change. We’re up in Everett today, I managed to sleep the entire bus trip. I’m sure everyone can realize the gravity of these next games. So, lets change the subject.
I read an article yesterday on the exploits of one Philip K. Dick. He was an accomplished writer, delivering 44 published novels and 121 short stories to the world. Dick was never a hugely acclaimed writer in his time. However, modern times have shined new light on his literary donations. There’s a chance you may have heard of some of his more famous movie-adapted novels. Blade Runner and Total Recall were some of his earlier successes. Unfortunately, Dick would pass before cashing in on the insane popularity of it. More recently, Minority Report, Paycheck, and Next have all been adapted to the silver screen. The Adjustment Bureau is next on the list coming out later this year. Tying it all together, we’re in Everett and as a team event we went and saw Limitless. The lead actor begins at a writer who quickly ascends to greatness with the help of a less than legal pill. Very thought provoking.
